about the teachers

i’m a yoga for all certified instructor who specializes in teaching mixed-level & mixed-ability classes. i’ve practiced yoga casually for over 20 years & incorporate multiple modalities to bring healing, strength, and flexibility to our bodies. after being diagnosed with several chronic illnesses, i found my way back to a consistent practice including meditation & breath work. i decided to teach in order to bring the benefits of yoga to those who think they can’t do it. i strive to make my classes accessible to all levels & bodies regardless of ability, strength, or flexibility. my teaching philosophy is that i’m here to help guide you & keep you safe in your practice but my main responsibility is to help you build your own practice in order to empower yourself & gain all the benefits yoga has to offer. when i’m not practicing yoga, i’m a freelance marketing consultant & wannabe artist, chef, & gardener.

looking for a hobby, i began belly dancing in 2001. i immediately fell in love with the way it made me feel, the confidence i felt while dancing, & the amazing women i met of all different shapes, sizes, ages, & ethnicities. the following year i began hula dancing & shortly after that i began teaching hula & belly dancing. with over 15 years of experience, i now dance as part of a troupe, leads my own troupe, teache dance, & perform regularly at public & private events.

in addition to dance, i’m also certified in group fitness & a registered yoga alliance teacher. i currently teach a weekly belly dance class at habeeba’s dance of the arts, a weekly group fitness class at five seasons, & various yoga classes at the yoga bar. i currently reside near cincinnati with my husband & dogs.

i’m a certified instructor of tai chi for health and certified instructor of healthy steps. i have 12 years experience teaching tai chi for health for people with different levels of physical abilities & 25 years experience working in healthcare. my philosophy is that tai chi is for every-body regardless of age or physical ability. “it is my goal that everyone attending class will have a safe, comfortable experience of gentle tai chi movement to achieve improved balance, range of motion and at least an hour of reduced stress.”

i’m deeply passionate about art, movement, community. having graduated from the university of cincinnati’s DAAP program & worked in the gallery business for nearly 15 years, my passion for art is as big as my love of physical movement. I began practicing yoga 19 years ago. I’m a yoga alliance registered 200 RYT yoga teacher & am currently enrolled in a 300-hour teacher training. in 2006, i received my first certification in pilates. in 2011, i opened clear conscious movement, which focuses on clients’ individual needs with an emphasis on alignment-based movement. to accommodate my growing clientele, i moved to a larger space in 2015 & have recently completed gong resonance therapy training, in addition to exploring the healing properties of tibetan singing bowls. my focus is on alignment-based functional anatomy while interweaving heartfelt themes into every class i offer. i also volunteers in my community teaching yoga to a community shelter.

i help my clients find balance through meditation, yoga, & a mixture of movement practices & techniques. I’m enthusiastic, energetic & love connecting with people. currently, i operate my studio, clear conscious movement, in east walnut hills while also teaching at mint yoga studio & the YWCA of greater cincinnati. my classes include a variety of vinyasa flow & restorative practices that often incorporate sound healing. most importantly, i enjoy time raising my 10-year-old daughter, addison.
